Introduction

In the midst of heartbreak, angst and the unfulfilled happily-ever-after grew a ship that interpreted and believed a different story. One where even in the darkest of times, there was still hope, beauty and this intangible and palpable connection with this couple.

Their scenes, though limited, have all been narratively essential and emotionally resonant, their story told through parallels with artistry supported by beautiful musical scores and cinematography that were rare throughout the rest of the drama.

Though there are 77+ reasons, why this is a special couple, the main one is that they are the best versions of themselves with one another. Their demeanors and personalities are the perfect complements to each other, and yet, they possess the same unyielding, determined spirit in fighting for their love, matching each other in terms of passion and unwavering devotion.

Passion is fleeting, and reality is quick to set in to couples who are blinded by passion without having reasons to stay together. What lasts longer is the relationship that starts off as a slow burn, getting hotter and larger with time, effort and mutual respect. In ChilBong and NaJeong, they are the Yin’s to each other’s Yang’s. What one lacks the other makes up for. He is a man just as driven to succeed, but like her, does it with humility and grace. She is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful to him, daggy pyjamas and all.

She has shown each of these sides to her around him because she is his equal. With no pretenses, she is comfortable to be herself and he has had the opportunity to see her in so many settings outside of the boarding house so she isn’t confined to one role in his life. She doesn’t question her self-worth with him or measure her value on how he sees her – something incredibly important for all women to heed by and a sign that she can be a mature, considerate, strong, self-assured, confident woman with Chilbongie.

Chilbong both blatantly awakened and affirmed NaJeong's fierceness by openly adoring her temper, intelligence, her sexiness - making her feel attractive, and perhaps made her see that his love embraced her flaws as their own perfection.

Chilbong

In Na Jeong, he found his match: driven, focused, warm, and passionate. With her and her family, he had found home. He, who had not much occasions to laugh, would now laugh freely. To Najeong, he is just Joon. Not Chilbong the ace pitcher of Yonsei University, not the hot stud on campus with girls lining up to date him, not the celebrity on TV and more importantly not someone God-like and unattainable.

She is his grounding force and accepts him for who he is beneath the celebrity and status: a guy who is considerate, attentive, genuinely friendly and nice, one with a good heart but not without flaws. He is simple and consistent – some say boring - but perhaps with all the conflict growing up, that’s what he strived to be. He can be confident in knowing that she grew to like him and treasure his presence and his friendship because of HIM – not for his baseball and popularity, but just because he is Bongah to her.

Most importantly, she has shown him that he is worthy of being treasured and loved for simply being himself. And for a lonely boy who was abandoned by his family -that is truly a gift from above.

By the end of it all, he became more than just Joon – he himself was a gift from the heavens for always watching over her, her best friend and landlord.

Why we love them

The Chilbong& Najeong couple is a miracle in that they are neither supported by a canonical endgame or reciprocated relationship and yet have elicited some of the most insightful and thought-provoking discussion on what it means to love, the nature of human relationships and the gut-wrenching painful transitional years of growing into adulthood.

In Chilbong and NaJeong we saw the possibility of what the best relationship would look like: accepting, kind, empowering and always based on respect. In these two characters we were able to see and imagine how two very imperfect people can enable each other to become the absolute versions of themselves and grow up feeling safe that they are, and will always be loved. In a world where true love is so rare, they gave us a glimpse of what forever may look like, giving all of us hope that there is such a thing in this ever-uncertain life.

Their potential as a couple and their chemistry was too enormous and beautiful to ignore. Cider is for the gut-wrenching, heart-shaking splendor of the things that could've been and the things that never were. For all the unanswered questions, for the ending that we never got, this is where this ship thrives on.

Together, we analyzed this couple from literally every angle possible: life lessons, real life relationships, thematic resonance, character development, narrative structure, metaphors, symbolism, and parallel imagery. We discussed not only Chilbong and Najung, but also what it meant to love and to separate, to give and to receive, to mature and to dream, to strive and to surrender, and to find your own identity.

We celebrate all the wonderful alternatives, the virtuality that equips us to go out into the world, create the reality we want and find the miraculous amidst the ruin.

Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung became husband and wife before 900 well-wishers. On August 10, the couple held its private wedding at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul.

The general mood at the wedding was solemn. Veteran actor Shin Young Kyun officiated, while actor Lee Bum Soo and comedian Shin Dong Yeop each hosted a part of the wedding. Park Jung Hyun sang in the first part, while Kim Bum Soo and Park Sun Ju sang in the second. Dynamic Duo, friends with Lee Min Jung, also got heads bobbing with its bright tracks.

Lee Byung Hun′s agency BH Entertainment released photos from the wedding after it came to a close. In the photos, Lee Min Jung and Lee Byung Hun look happy, as Lee Min Jung smiles in an off-shoulder style dress and Lee Byung Hun beams in a tuxedo.

The couple had said at the press conference held before the wedding, "We′ll try to find happiness by being thankful for the little things."

Lee Byung Hun said, "We don′t have any plans for children yet, but we′ll be thankful for any," while Lee Min Jung said, "I used to consult my agency for any important issues like my career, but now I′ll first go to my husband."

Lee Min Jung′s bouquet went to a non-celebrity friend. The couple who left for their honeymoon on August 12, will settle down in Gwangju, Gyeongg-do, where Lee Byung Hun and his mother lives.

Adam Couple ♡ Adam Success !!

Jo Kwon and Ga In are a virtual couple on MBC's reality show, We Got Married. The program follows the participating celebrities who are coupled as husband and wife as they portray the lives of newly weds. Although they were initially only supposed to feature for the Chuseok Special that aired on October 3rd, 2009 their appearance brought in the highest ratings yet for Season II, and they were announced a permanent couple.

Jo Kwon and Ga In were originally dubbed the "Adam-Eve Couple" due to both of their inexperience in love and relationships. Yet nowadays they are more commonly known as the "Adam Couple" or Adams because of their small stature and their young age. ("Adam" is pronounced the same as the Korean term for "little/small"). Variations of their couple name are the Petite Couple, Small Couple, The Kid Couple, the Jo In Couple or the GaKwon couple. The latter two being both combination of their names.

Son Ga In and Jo Kwon have a two year separation in age, with Ga In being the eldest of the two. Long-time viewers were reminiscent of the Lettuce Couple (HwangBo and HyunJoong of SS501) who also had a Nuna-Dongsaeng relationship.

Nuna is a term used by males to address older females.
Dongsaeng is a term used by both male and female to address a person younger than them.

The couple released a duet titled "우리 사랑하게 됐어요" ("We Fell in Love") on December 16, 2009 which topped variety online music charts, winning 2 awards on Music Bank's K-Charts, "Most Popular Background Phone Music" on the Gaon Charts and Mnet Asian Music Awards for Best Collaboration. The song was composed by Jea (Brown Eyed Girls) and Lee MinSu and written by Kim Ina, Ga In and Jo Kwon. 50 million won from the profits of the song were donated to help out for Haiti's earthquake. For these efforts, Jo Kwon was given "대한민국나눔" award at the 3rd Korea Sharing Awards ceremony.

On February 2010, the couple was announced to be one of the Korean representatives of Chinese New Year Festival parade in Hongkong. This is one of the accomplishment that hasn't been achieved by any We Got Married couples before.

Jo Kwon also created a song for Ga In with the title "고백하던 날" ("The Day I Confessed") which became popular and the song is included in 2AM's first full album. The song that he partially composed during the We Got Married broadcast for Ga-in. The song reached #1 on Cyworld real time charts the day after its release. They won their first Rookie Variety Awards at MBC Entertainment Awards for their participation in We Got Married. The couple also won the "Best Couple Award" and beat many other popular couples.

Unfortunately, due to their busy schedules, the Adam Couple must end their virtual marriage.The longest running couple announced their separation on January 6, 2011 through Shim Shim Tapa radio program, and the last episode was aired 2 weeks after the announcement. However, the end of their virtual marriage marked the start of their relationship as twins in the new MBC sitcom "All My Love". This only proves that Adam Couple is indeed forever, as Gain said,

'Even though We Got Married ended, Adam Couple will always remain'.
